Filamentality--This is a fill-in-the-blank tool that guides you through picking a topic, searching the Web, gathering good Internet links, and turning them into learning activities.

WebQuests
The WebQuest Page--Webquests are inquiry oriented activities using web information and this site is the first place to look when designing or searching for one. Maintained by Bernie Dodge, the guru of Webquests, it has hundreds of web sites to use and great tips on utilizing this great resource in your curriculum.

Continuing Education
FOR-PD: Florida Online Reading Professional Development--This free class will introduce you to everything you ever wondered about how children learn to read and it will give you strategies to use in our secondary classrooms to help struggling readers. There is no way to underestimate the importance of strong reading skills to learning in all of our classes, so this class is a must. Need points to renew your certificate?
PBS TeacherLine--In cooperation with WBCC, Cocoa, and WLRN, Miami, PBS TeacherLine offers a program of online professional development courses for educators. Because this is part of a pilot project funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Brevard teachers can take these $150 classes for only $20. Take a look at these 7-week classes.

Copyright Basics
Copyright with Cyberbee--Despite the name, this site has seven excellent links to copyright information plus a great lesson plan you can print out to use with your students.
The Educator's Guide to Copyright and Fair Use--A handy chart and an interesting quiz (scroll near the bottom of the page) provide you with pertinent information.

Plagiarism Resources
Plagiarism.org Research Resources--Find here printable resources for you and for your students that explain what plagiarism is and how to avoid it. The student information may be a bit involved for middle school students, but it may depend upon your class.
Plagiarism and the Web--A discussion by a college professor of plagiarism which includes term paper web sites and some suggestions on how to keep students from plagiarism. You'll find some good links here.
Plagiarism Stoppers: A Teacher's Guide--Here is an extensive, annotated list of web sites maintained by a media specialist at Naperville Central High School in Illinois.
Beating the Cheating--This web site is actually a webquest for teachers with the goal of teaching you about plagiarism. Very interesting!

Worksheet Generator--From DiscoverySchool, you can make worksheets by choosing from templates in the "Create a Worksheet" area or use one another teacher has created from "Worksheets to Go."
Web Worksheet Wizard--This site provides "a tool to help teachers create online educational material for their students or schools." Take a look at the bank of worksheets that have been created to see the huge variety of projects that are there. You will get so many ideas for things for you and your students to do.
