The library media center at Astronaut High School serves students in Grades 9 through 12, as well as our faculty and staff.

OBJECTIVES OF LIBRARY MEDIA PROGRAM:

• To provide students with a variety of authoritative information sources.
• To help students develop effective information literacy skills.
• To encourage all students to become lifelong learners.
• To nurture a love of reading in all students.
• To ensure all library media users are effective users of information.


LIBRARY MEDIA POLICIES
:
• Books may be borrowed for three weeks (fifteen days).
• Books may be renewed unless others have requested the title.
• A fine of $ .05 per school day will be charged for overdue books.
• Selected reference and reserve materials may be borrowed at the end of the day and are due before first period of the next school day.
• A fine of $1.00 per school day will be charged for overdue overnight materials. Fines begin to incur if the material is not returned before first period on the date due.
• Current periodicals may be used in the library media center only. Back issues may be checked out overnight.
• Interlibrary loan is available through SUNLINK if needed.
